We have a Dish 1000. I think it is a 1000.2 because it has a triple LNBF on it that says dpp plus on it. The dish says Turbo HD on it. We get 119, 110, and 129.

We want to add one, possibly two additional receivers in the house. Do we need a DPP 33 switch or DPP 44 switch or another one?

I was told we could run a third line from the dish itself to the house but it'd be much easier using the two existing lines that come in from the dish already and adding a switch without having to run another line from the dish.

Yes - you need the DPP 33 or DPP44 switch. And to run the 3 cables into the house. .

THe other relevant fact - what receivers do you have now, and what are you adding ?

Right now there is 722 receiver in the living room and a 222 in the family room. The 222 is hooked up to a bedroom as well. The 722 is ran in single mode due to a lot of recording on both tuners. We want to add a third dual tuner receiver upstairs to two rooms.

I was thinking we could add a switch on where the two existing lines from the dish come in the house, but you are saying we can't use a switch with just the 2 lines that come in now from the dish?

If it is a Dish 1000.2, there is a third output on the LNB for a third duo-TV receiver. You'd only need a switch if adding a fourth receiver. Just run a third cable from the LNB to where the TV1 location is.

Yes, that is a 1000.2.

No, you will not be able to get around adding the 3rd line.

Each receiver MUST have its own line from the switch which in this case is built into the multi-LNB assembly. If you add an external switch, it MUST have a line for each orbital slot it will be feeding to the connected receivers. If you add a switch as proposed, without also running a line for the 3rd sat input, the receivers will get just 110 and 119, assuming those are the 1000.2 outputs you're connecting to. So just connect to the dish, no extra switch needed here.

Once you add a 4th receiver, you can run 3 lines from the dish to your distribution center where you will place the DPP44.

One other thing to note (while it's borderline irrelevant sense you have a 1000.2 and enough outputs to do what you want) is you can't use a DPP LNB on the DPP33 switch only Dish Pro. Also while DPP LNBs are compatible with the DPP44 switch there can be some fighting between DPP switch gear in the LNB with the 44Switch causing intermintent signal loss.
