I've had this problem pop up several times in the past week. The symptoms are very specific and I'd like to hear from anyone experiencing identical symptoms. These symptoms only involve the HDMI audio being passed from the 722K to my Pioneer receiver (SC-07) when viewing recorded programs.
I'll be watching several programs recorded on my 722K played through the SC-07 via HDMI without incident, and then I'll start watching a new program and suddenly there's a recurrent momentary audio dropout every 2 seconds. Once the problem pops up, it's heard even if I switch to any other of the recordings stored on the 722K. Power cycling the receiver doesn't clear the problem. I'm unable to clear the problem while watching any recordings via HDMI through the receiver. If I switch the 722K over to live TV, there are no audio dropouts. Plugging the 722K HDMI cable directly into the TV, there are no audio dropouts when viewing the recorded programs. Playing the recorded programs through the receiver via TOSLINK audio and there are no audio dropouts.
