It's been several years since I've called them, but reading some other threads has made me curious. Are they still U.S. based, or have they outsourced offshore? Or is it a split operation, and if so, is there a better time or number to call to get a U.S. based rep?

Dish has 10 (or maybe it's 11 now) call centers in the US.
And a huge Indian operation that has cost them many customers.

I am not saying this is incorrect. I would be interested in where you found the info to support the assertion.
No hassle intended.

Are you sure about that? I know of a center in the Philippines, but I hadn't heard of one in India.

Also time for my beat-the-dead-horse commentary :)
I do sometimes find foreign tech/customer support accents hard to understand, and sometimes seem to be uninformed... BUT this is really a fault of the main company not properly training nor hiring folks with clear phone voices.
IF the same company hires in-USA, english-speaking people... I suspect you'll find they similarly don't always have clear phone voices nor are properly trained, and often operate from a script.
My conclusion... poor tech support/customer support might reflect poorly on the person you talk to that day... but it reflects MORE on the management of the company... so I prefer not to bash the folks on the phone line, but rather the company who isn't helping those t/csrs be their best.
