Hi Everyone!

I'm new to the board, but I'm about to pull the trigger on DirecTV service at my new place. I have a couple of questions about the current offers and promotions though. First, I know the offers are changing tomorrow, but it looks like they are staying the same and adding the Sunday Ticket offer as another option.

1) For the Sunday ticket offer, can you switch from the Premier to the Choice Xtra after 5 months with the $21 off? Or are you paying regular price for Choice Xtra after the first 5 months of Premier?

2) What exactly is the AAA discount? $10 off per month? I've been looking to sign up for an AAA membership, so it'd be a sweet deal to save money on my DirectTV service too! Do you have to mention this when signing up or can it be added after you have service?

3) What's the likelihood of getting a 2nd standard HD receiver for free when I sign up? I'm likely going with 1 HD DVR and one HD standard box.

4) I'll also be signing up for ATT UVerse internet. How easy is it to get this bundled and do I save $5 per month? I won't be getting a landline FWIW.

5) I'll be using a referral from a friend. Is it still $100 off for each party?

6) I live in an apt complex and a company actually owns all the lines and equipment. We don't even need a dish since it's on top of the building. Since it's apartment living, this company actually mirrors the national offers, but only requires a one year contract instead of the standard two. Will this affect any of the aforementioned discounts? Can all these discounts be combined?

I think that's about it. I'm excited to get the service, but I'm just trying to get the best deals upfront since I know that's the best time to do it.

Thanks for the help!!

Welcome! This is a subject that gets asked a lot and most of your questions have been discussed many times. You can do a search on AAA to find several threads. Here is a link to one of them: Similar Question Thread (http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=161557&highlight=aaa)

Quick answers:
1. Yes
2. Must be a member when you sign up & provide AAA account number. Its easy to sign up online and get you number immediately.
3. Give it a try when you call, no promo for that now
4. You can order everything though AT&T, but need to ask if you can get the AAA discount
5. Yes
6. Not sure how that works, hopefully someone else can answer.
