...excellent?! I thought it was hilarious with some of the best writing in a long time. The kid that played O'Neil's clone was great!

The episode was written, produced and directed by Peter Deluise. He's been directing and producing this show for a long time but sometimes when he takes the helm, the results are some of the best episodes of the series (who could forget the "Groundhog Day" episode, classic!).

I just purchased season 3 on DVD and one of the featurettes have Richard Dean Anderson classifying Stargate SG-1 as a Sci-Fi comedy. Definitely true in most cases.

This kid had Anderson DEAD ON! I totally believed that he was O'Neill. Especially liked the look in his eyes when he was going to high school at the end. How many of us would KILL to go back to high school age knowing what we do now?

Also, Shanks has settled right back in. His light comedic sarcasm was missed while he was gone.

Every now and then Stargate embraces it's campiness and it winds up turning into a classic episode. Add this one to the list.

I thought it was great as well. The kid had O'Neil's mannerisms cold, really added to the plotline. Great shows have always realized what they were and played on it. Testimony to RDA involvement. McGyver had this same camp.

A lot of this came through in the Low-Down special. Who recognized the frequent Wizard of Oz references throughout the series? That was a great inside look as well.

It's interesting you should say that. I forgot that he returned last week. It just seems like he belongs there. I don't miss the other guy at all.

Shanks is certainly more at ease and a better fit in SG-1 than his guest shots in Andromeda. He was WEAK in those.
