Can I use diplexers with SL3-SWM? Thought I read somewhere it couldn't be done.

good question
officialy no..
has it been done? yes..
lots of tricks.. you can get interference for the OTA that will take out the sat signal so it's a "try and see"..

In my opinion, you'd be better off using a separate cable for OTA.

Yes...it can be done.
I've been diplexing OTA, using a SWM-8, without issue...along with numerous others.
Also yes, IT IS NOT APPROVED BY D*. So, it's completely DIY...there is no support from D*.
Finally, yes...a separate coax is the best way to go. But, if you're in the same boat I'm in, it's the best option available.

But, can you diplex with the SWM SL3 dish?

But, can you diplex with the SWM SL3 dish?
same rules apply to all swm systems

Where do I insert the diplexer at? This is my current setup, SL3-SWM - 8 way splitter - PI after splitter. Do I insert it between the 8 way and PI or between the SWM and 8 way?

I prefer to run it after the PI.. that is swm>pi>diplexer>splitter

Thanks gents. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting my time with the SL3-SWM. Let's see what happens.
Yes, it does work with the SL3. I have a SL3 and diplex to one of my TVs.
It is picky though, so it takes some trial and error. Always diplex after the PI for best results.
For those curious, I use the Holland DPD2 diplexers.
