My anti-virus program (AVG) found 77 infected files yesterday Sat.(25th) morning, these are just two samples:"C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.Resources\da.lproj\iPod ServiceLocalized.dll";"Trojan horse Small.BOG";"Moved to Virus Vault"
"C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.Resources\da.lproj\iTunesLocal ized.dll";"Trojan horse Small.BOG";"Moved to Virus Vault"

These weren't there friday as I ran three scans, with AVG, Avast, and Windows Defender. AVG is also scheduled to scan at 1:30am everyday. These infections weren't there early sat. morning. The infections were only in the Ipod/Itunes files. I didn't download anything, did not open any email. I don't have a ipod, iphone, or any mac products.
I'm running Vista.
I just thought I would post this as a warning.

1) Update AVG
2) Scan again.

I got that as well from AVG but not from anything else. I tried to reinstall iTunes using the setup file that I had downloaded last week & as it was installing, AVG was claiming the files were a trojan. I ended up adding the ipod & itunes directories under program files to the exceptions list. This was on my Windows 7 64-bit machine & on my husband's Vista Ultimate 64-bit machine.

I figured it had to be a false positive. I searched Friday for information but there wasn't any available yet.

I updated AVG just before I ran the scan. I quess it wasn't corrected in the update.
Thanks for the info.

I reinstalled & everything was fine. I didn't lose anything probably because the Preference files are under the user directory & the files AVG didn't like were under the program files directory.

No, not unless you need iTunes. Why did you have iTunes installed? Past Apple products?

Preinstalled in my new laptop.
I never had any apple products.

I'd uninstall it, then. Especially since AVG has hosed the installation anyway.

I got the same. I removed it and then iTunes would no longer run. I had to reinstall iTunes. All is now good with iTunes and AVG no longer looks at these files as being Trojans.

I read that a system restore will solve the issue and save one from having to do a reinstall. I'll give it a try.
