View Full Version : Comcast DVR 3416 vs 6416 which is the Best.

I have a friend who is getting Comcast. He is asking me between the DTS 3416 and the DTS 6416 which is better and what can he expect?

Also have they fixed most of the bugs like series pass, powering off, power on Muting etc? I did some research for him on these DVR's and the reports seem really bad.

BTW he has no choice, it's Comcast or a set of rabbit ears so E* or D* is not an option, and the receivers are also only those two choices. What I really need to know is how bad are these DVRs as of now, has any updates fixed the problems, because all the website info I find on those two receivers is old from 2007.

The 3416 is newer, and all digital. It should in theory be better.

Most of the older Motorola DVR issues have been solved, but IMO, if he's coming from Dish or DirecTV, he'll be disappointed.

For cable, the best DVR is the TiVo HD, but he'll have to buy it.

Yes but many people who have Sat use to have Comcrap and dropped it. I figured I could get some feedback from these old comcast customers
