I have just recently moved to a new home and had my DirecTV moved. When the install was done, I was given the SWMLine Dish. My setup is as follows:

1x HR20-700
1x HR22-100
2x R22-100
1x D12-200

I'm wondering - is 8 total tuners the maximum allowed from the SWMLine to the rest of the home? I've noticed that sometimes, one TV at a time that has a DVR will freak out and only have one tuner available, or if all the tuners are available on the DVRs, the D12 receiver refuses to work. Thanks for any help you have!

You are correct. The SWMLine only supports a maximum of 8 tuners.

eight max.
Nine will cause them to "fight over" what they need.
Your options are to remove one tuner by either unplugging it or to go into the setup menu and tell it to use only one tuner.

If that install was done by DirecTV, someone goofed as you should not have been given an SWM LNB. You should have been given a standard LNB and either two WB68 or one WB616 multiswitches, which can then support more than 8 tuners.

I think the reason the SWM was done, was due to the fact that we had a very difficult wiring job for the installation otherwise - the way the cable is run, it's up from the basement, to the attic, down to each room. I think it was for ease of install. I'm not upset with the install, I can just set one of my DVRs to use only a single tuner - not a big deal to me.
