View Full Version : Do you have NFL Sunday Ticket? FOR THOSE THAT ALREADY ANSWERED THE "MAX PRICE" POLL

Please only participate in this poll if you have already taken the "Max price for NFL Sunday Ticket" poll. I'd just like to get a better idea of those that responded to that poll, who already has NFL Sunday Ticket and who does not.
Thanks! Interesting stuff.
I prefer College Football, and with Sports Pack, there are dozens of games on each week. For the NFL, I am a Cowboys fan, and most of their games are on in my area anyway. I can understand an avid NFL fan wanting Sunday Ticket, but I can't justify it when there are five games on every week for free.
...another poll I'd like to see is how may subscribe to NFLST because they live out of area or they just love ALL football...?:D

I dropped Sunday Ticket last year because it's too expensive.

Good idea for a poll! I live in my home market so I see my teams games every week on local TV. I am just one of those folks who loves watching football. I like being able to choose what games I want to watch after or before my team playes.

Same here. I have 3 screens going at once on Sundays (2 on games and 1 on RZC) for my own team, fantasy football, and gambling.

Being the sports fan that I am, although I wouldn't mind a lower price, I still subscribe to Sunday Ticket, along with the NBA, MLB, Mega March Madness, and NHL packages.
Like Red Dog above, I too, watch sports on multiple screens simultaneously. For football, specifically, we have the RZC on the center TV and other individual games running on the other 5 in the den. :)
Yep I have it and plan to keep it from here on out. Last year was my first and it was fantastic with SuperFan that is. I cant wait for the season to start. I think it would be interesting if they would throw in the pre season games as well in the package.

No, but I would be interested if the price was on the order of $25-50/year including HD.
Good idea for a poll. I voted in the earlier "price" poll but didn't post my poll vote.
I voted for the max $250 price.
I'm in the Dallas market and get all of the Cowboys games...I can't remember the last local blackout. Maybe it was back in '00-'01 or so. Of course, with the new "Jerry" stadium, who knows about this season although they've supposedly sold ~85% season tkt seats so far.
I have been a ST subs since '99 but held off on upgrading to HD until last summer when I learned that every ST game would be in HD for the '08 season.
I like being able to choose what games I want to watch after or before my team playes.
That's it for me as well. I don't like the recent NFL trend to more primetime games as that removes them from the Sun afternoon ST Pkg. Imo, that lowers the ST value so if ST pricing continues to rise, at some point, I might have to do without it. Hopefully, that day's not coming soon.
As others have posted elsewhere, the only other real peeve that I have with ST is that SF issue regarding HD access. HD should be included in the ST pkg without having to have SF.
I admire you "multi-screen" guys out there...that's real football fanatic-land  I thought about another display in the main room last season as it was my 1st HD upgrade with DTV with a new Plasma set. I rarely tuned to the Red Zone or Game Mix last season but I can see the advantage of having a 2nd set for those channels. Interesting...
OT, but did any of you guys notice a "bug" with the HD Game Mix channel last season? What I found was that when I would highlight an HD channel and tune to it, the receiver would tune to the SD channel feed of that game and not the HD feed. Strange. That's one reason I didn't use Game Mix much last year.

This is funny - we spoke about this almost three years ago and I found a post that made that seems quite fitting to this poll...

Here's the irony of getting NFL ST. I originally purchased it over 10 years ago when I moved to Dallas, so that I could watch the Bills. At that time the thought of getting stuck with Cowboy coverage every week (actually everyday down here) was too much to bear. Watching your favorite team every week regardless of what the locals were going to carry - was a key benefit.
However, a funny thing happened on my way from the fridge to the couch on Sunday's. With the ability to see the key matchups (plural) every week VS the coverage offered by your own region, I actually became a Fan of football as opposed to just a Bills follower.
I set up 3 TV's in the medial room with an "A" "B", an "C" game. My friends get a kick out of it..and they bring the beer. So, what started out as a quest to see the Bills weekly turned me into an engaged football fanatic who appreciates multiple games every week. That's why I would endorse ST.

For me, its the option to watch any game as I may not want to watch the games shown locally (No I am not a fantasy football guy)( I do watch all Rams games) :)

I had it last year, but doubt I'll get it this year.

Love football, love having all games on Sunday available and not just what the affiliates want to give me. Id say at least 90pct of the non- Patriots games I watched were because I had ST. Ive become an Arizona Cardinals fan also.
I have NFL Sunday Ticket for the following reasons. #1. I would NEVER get to see a Bears game where I live from my local FOX Affilliate. #2. Reason why I have NFL Sunday Ticket is because When the Bears aren't on NFL Sunday Ticket for any reason, being they are on Sunday or Monday Night Football or Thursday Night NFL Network, I want to be able to choose any game I want to watch instead of the game that my local affiliates carry and would force me to watch if i didn't have NFL Sunday Ticket. For Some Reason my local affilliates only like to show Tennessee, Indianapolis, or New Orleans.

Loving ALL football is generally the reason I DON'T get NFLST. I had it last year (first time) and mostly watched the games that were being broadcast. The networks generally do a pretty good job of airing good matchups and I'll watch just about any two teams.

Yep, that's probably part of it. I don't really have a favorite team anymore, although there's many teams I like and root for.

That's exactly what's happened to me in recent years. As a native Dallas resident, I grew up with the 'Boys during the Meredith/Staubach/Aikman years but in recent years with ST, I've become more of a league fan. I've stayed with ST for that reason and for the choices/freedom from the local affiliate feeds.
And you're right about the Cowboys coverage down here  Training camp opening practice is a regular media circus as all of the other news....TO going up to your home area, etc.
OT, I like those Sabres too :)
It is the ONE & only reason I have D* TV at ALL.

Yes, got the $20 off for 6 months deal (basically the weakest deal being reported). So I guess I spent over the $250 I answered in the other thread :)

OT - now if we can only get those Sabre games in HD on MSG NHLCI!....but there's a whole other thread about that topic...

I think you needed to add a few more options to this poll...like had it before but not anymore. I had been a subscriber since the first season that DirecTV offered it. It has finally gotten to the point where they have priced me out of subscribing.
