508 "Search Error" with P196

With the new P196 software revision on the 508, I often encounter a "Search Error" when doing a program search. After I get this, a power button reset is required to recover. It appears to occur after I use the guide to check out future programs, but I haven't yet linked this "Search Error" to a specific action.

Has anyone else been noticing this on P196, or figured out a less obtrusive fix?

yes i get the same on my 508 and i have to hit power off button for a few seconds and it reboots and loads EPG which takes a few minutes. since this is my 4th 508 i am not sending it back as the new (or refurbished) replacement could be worse!!

I seem to get this problem if I go too far out into the guide. For example, if it's Tuesday today, try checking out next Monday's schedule by scrolling forward to it. At one time I also thought this problem was occuring after recording a program.

Do you also have the guide issue where it tries to download a new schedule if you go more then an hour forward? Both of these problems seem to have cropped up on 196, and I have both. A smart card pull seems to fix both problems, but I hate to have to walk across the room! :rolling: Hopefully lots of people have the problem and will report it so they will fix it. Up until now my 508 was rock solid.
