I have a sl5 non-swm dish. I realigned the mast. it is perfectly level and 6x6 post included. i have no trouble aligning the dish except for 99 .....my signals are getting worse they are
11.2,53.9,68 for 99/101
7.8,38.7,50.6 99/101
64.8,42.6,55.2 103/119
60,49.2,48.2 110/119

my last settings were 11.6,54.9,61.6 99/101
7.6,39.3,63 99/101
64.3,40.0,58.1 103/119
62.0,50.0,49.6 110/119
I set my tilt to 90 degrees, find 101 and lockit down
then i adjust the elevation.
then i tilt for best signal and lock
then back to 101 and readjust elevation
then adjust azmuth

i am using a acutrac III plus..very easy to find sats.

i'm lost what to do ..i have installed many free to air, dtv and dishnet dishes.. could my dish be bent slightly? I have never abused it I appreciate all your input.. mike

I assume those readings you posted are from the Accutrac III meter.
Which mean nothing to me, as I'm not an installer. :)

However, I suspect that a tilt of 90 is a bit off.
Using Chicago on dishpointer.com I find the skew/tilt to be 75.5.

Set the tilt to what the receiver says is correct for your zip, get it aimed at 101, and use 103 to fine tune the el, then az, then el again. If 99 is significantly lower than 103, you either have a warped dish or a bad lnb if I had to guess.

Using the above method to aim my SWM5 (using the receivers meter, not an accutrac), I peaked 103 to mid 90s, and 99 ended up being high 80s to low 90s, KU sats were all between 95 and 100 with most being 100.

I replaced the dish and my readings are almost the same..how do i check the lnb if it is bad? robert

Are you dithering the azimuth and elevation? This procedure is necessary to get good readings on 99 and 103.
