I searched the forum for info but lacking any success, what's the story with Dish HD and MASN (mid-atlantic sports network) in HD? I admit not doing my homework before I upgraded to HD and I was disappointed to see that MASN was showing up only in SD. I did some searching and see that pretty much all the other carriers (Comcast, DirecTV, Fios, etc) all carry MASN in HD. Who do we yell at?

Also, I got my Baltimore DMA locals upgraded to HD. ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX are all in HD. There are a few other locals that are not (WUTB 24, WNUV 54) but the big one is that the Maryland Public Television (MPT) which is the local PBS is in SD. What's up with that? They are pumping out 1080i OTA and Dish is just delivering SD. What a crock that is. What's the story with not having all locals in HD since they are all xmitting HD OTA?

Chatted with Dish programming customer support (to add free Platinum HD per another thread on this forum) but while I was at it, I asked about MASN HD and PBS/MPT HD.

In both cases, it is claimed that these will be added "shortly." However when I pressed for a rough schedule, all I got was that they didn't know. The chat rep tried telling me that MASN was not available in HD but when I said yes it was and Dish's competitors had it, she backed off and said "not to worry - it will be added."

BTW, it took no more than 3 min to get the Platinum HD upgrade for free. And she also gave me 3 months of HBO and Showtime for free as well.

We'll see. I've been getting the canned negative response each time I ask DISH and MASN people have said that they offerred it up to DISH at no extra charge (sounds unlikely knowing how MASN does business) and DISH still wouldn't bite.
