I also called on a Monday and got mine on that Wednesday. I thought it would be 2 weeks, not 2 days!

The upgrade is pretty painless, or should be if you get a tech who has a clue about the way his product works. Here's a funny installation story for you. I recently resubscribed to DTV and ordered the multisat dish and one receiver upgrade for $49. The first installation DTV screwed up the work order and the guy didn't have my new dish with him. So he gave me the receiver upgrade and installed the multiswitch so that I would have all my receivers working til the Phase III got here. DTV promptly no charges the whole deal so I'm happy about the free upgrade im getting. Two days later they send another tech with my new dish. Wondering why my simple dish upgrade was taking so long, I let him go about his business until I realize he can't figure out why only two receivers will work at a time instead of all 4. I looked at his setup to see that instead of making two 5 foot cables to connect all the receivers direct to the LNB, he's using the standard multiswitch to feed off the Phase III. Realizing people don't like to be informed of how to do their own job, I politely suggest he needs to take out the multiswitch casue it won't pass the proper voltages to the multi in the LNB. He tells me this isn't the problem and he will figure it out. After that he contacts what I assume to be a supervisor and discusses it for awhile until he mentions the multiswitch he's trying to make use of. At this point he hangs up, takes out the multiswitch and proceeds to make new cables to reach the LNB. Story told, I didn't make a big deal out of and told their QA rep that ecerything was fine. I figure he won't try that setup again. It just seems ridiculously funny that a company would send out a new tech without making sure he could new how to do the install. To me it just reflects poorly on a company when they send people unprepared and manage to turn a dish upgrade into a 2 hour job.

the upgrade took about 30 minutes, most of which took to authorize the new receiver, I went form a sony to an RCA, which'll take a long time to learn how to use, it's loaded with features. :D

When I got my Phase III, I went from second generation :eek2: RCAs to new Hughes, and it was like night and day! I had installed Hughes receivers for someone else a while back and liked them, but once I got used to these new ones, I like Hughes even more. I already had a third generation multi-satellite RCA in one room, so I can still play with an RCA if I want. :)
