I have a DVR receiver in the upstairs bedroom. What I want/need to do is have the same programming, that I have in the upstairs room, the same in the basement bedroom.
Can someone please explain, in the easiest of terms, what I need to do to make this happen.
Thank you....

Unless I am missing something here, a second DVR with exact same series links?
Some day soon 2 DVR's will have the ability to share recordings. But I think you will still need 2 DVR's

Do you want to independently control both locations or can one be a mirror of the other?

One be mirrored from the other...
So the upstairs bedroom has the DVR recevier and the basement room just has the cable input... I want Directv programming that I have in the upstairs bedroom the same as downstairs... So if I have the remote in the basement changing channels I see the same channel at the same time from both the upstairs tv and the basements...

All video/audio outputs are on. The tv in the basement is SD or HD? So if it is SD you can run a 3 rca cable to it. If it is HD you will need a 5 RCA(3 composite video and 2 rca audio).
If it is SD in the basement, then use a modulated rf signal (channel 3/4) to feed that tv from the upstairs. If you have an R15 or R16 SD DVR, simply use the channel 3/4 output. If you have an R22 or an HR series DVR, then get an rf modulator (radio shack, best buy, etc.), connect it to the composite video output (yellow and red/white audio), then run the output over a single coax to the basement tv.
Obviously, you will need either an RF remote, or an IR repeater, for the remote to work from the basement to the upstairs.
