Tiger direct has refurbished ones on sale for $139. Is this a good buy? Trying to get a decent one but not bare-bones. Any info appreciated!

I would buy a new $100 player at Wal-Mart before I bought a refurbished 1500.

For $40 more, you can get the 2550(refurbed)

Thanks!

I have bought from that site before. They are good to go!

Personally I wouldn't purchase a refurb. It's already broken at least once or not lived up to specs straight off the production line; thus repaired accordingly. Top this off with the reduced 90 day warranty and your increasing your potential problems exponentially.

And I wouldn't buy a Samsung BD player.

Well my 1500 has played EVERYTHING that I've put in it's tray for the last year.

If you have not yet bought, check out PCRichard & Son - they have it brand new for $129.99.

NOTE - I know nothing about this site - I just read about this at DealNN.com

Actually, it's $150.

Sorry about that - 129.99 is the amount saved by the sale, and 149.99 is the price. I misread that because of the way it is posted on the PCRichard & Sons Web site. Still a better deal than $139 for a refurbished unit - but I have not tried to compare shipping costs.

PC Richard is showing free shipping. Also if you haven't purchased yet. Remember that the Samsung will let you download from your Netflix account if you have one.:)
