I'm a new Directv customer coming from Dish Network. I tried using the on-screen guide to order UFC 101 for this Saturday night in advance as I was able to do with DISH, but the only options I see are to Record and view my Purchases. For PPV movies, I see the option to buy as well as the other options, but not for other sports PPVs.
So I was wondering, how soon in advance are you able to order Sports PPVs through the onscreen guide, or is the only way to do so is either online or by phone?
Thanks in advance for all your help.

That's certainly possible. I have the option to order it right now.

Through the remote you can actually order it up to half way through. All other options have much smaller time windows. However you should choose record not buy. This way if something comes up when it's on live you didn't pay for it and start the 24 hour timer.

Use the record option. It will record it to your DVR. When you view it is when you buy it. You can record things in advance but not ever buy them if you do not view them. You are not committed to buy until you view.
That is the way it works with movies, so I assume it works the same way with events.
You should only be seeing Buy and Watch on current programs and movies of the same day that are All Day Ticket viewings (which means you can watch any showing of that movie that day).
