Well after a little over 3 months of voluntary suspension I'm back.:hurah:
I simply couldn't stand the zero OTA programming and Netflix streaming is a joke unless you have an ideal broadband connection.
I worked out a deal with DTV for the next year that we could afford:hurah:.
Any way it's nice to be back.

I don't know what kind of net connection you have here, but NetFlix on our Comcast 6mbps down is fantastic. What is the stated speed and what are you using a PC or Roku box?
I can see that for people without decent internet connections that DirecTV fills the void...much like it did for the many that couldn't get cable when they started.
I'm glad to hear they also made a deal for you that you can afford.

We're on Clear WiMax so plenty of bandwith.
I was doing it with a Tivo HD unit (which is probably the worst for NF streaming) on top of that I was doing it wireless. I think it need a wired connection to be reliable.

How fast is Clear Wimax? I know they say they have bursts over 10mb, but what's the average speed you get?
The wireless may also be an issue although the Roku player comes with wireless and I have a friend using it without any ill effects. Of course, wireless can be affected by distance, interference, etc.

Clearwire here just upgraded their service and it's up to 6.2 most people sustain 5 with a decent signal.
