I just had to post this to combat all of the people who post complaints about Dish Network. Enjoy!

The guy sitting next to me here at work is trying to get Time Warner Cable set up at his new home. He called the local number and it either rings busy or rings and no one answers the phone. When he tries the 1800 new "service" telephone number, he gets a recorded message saying that "all agents are currently busy, please try again later". The recording then hangs up the phone.

I am trying to talk him into looking at Dish but he says that he has trees that cover the whole southern sky and would probably not be able to get signal.

He is so pissed off that he is now leaving work to drive to the local cable office and bitch at them.

Don't you just love Time Warner's service! That is why I left them. At least with Dish you get to talk to a person even if they don't always know the answer and my Dish problems have always been solved. With just a phone call or two.

Certainly an area Dish and Direct have over Cable. Because we are so well informed here, I can understand that we are asking questions of CSR'S that they just do not know. There are cetainly times questions are asked that they do not get correct that they should, but overall, light years ahead of most cable operators.

Perhaps this is because cable does not want to put more money into opening up new call centers or hiring more new people like Dish and DirecTv do.

Cable Update*****

He went to the local cable office yesterday and left. Only had two people working the counters and the lines were backed way up. After 15 minutes he got fed up.

Went this morning and both ladies were working on their computers. No other customers were present and it still took about 5 minutes for one of them to even acknowledge him. Neither of them would give him a good idea as to what the problem was yesterday.

You got to love that!

Has your friend ever had a DISH installer come out and check his home site? I used to live "deep" in the woods here in the NW but they worked and worked and got a DISH sited in for me in spite of ALL the trees.
Won't hurt to ask - no charge!

Hope he can get set up with it.

Just talked to him. He has not done anything yet. He is trying to decide how much money he wants to invest and how much he is able to put up with.
