Just exactly how do they install the dish network. I assume that they put a dish up and run cable to the receivers. But if I have more than one receiver. Do they run one cable to each receiver from the dish on the roof, chimmey or siding. Seems like a lot of holes on my walls if I want several receivers. Also is the installation including the running of wires inside the house such as attic, walls etc or do they just pull the cable on the roof and punch a hole from outside each room to bring the cable in.

Most of the installation depends on your installer.
The dealer/installer will work with you in most cases. Dish has set rules for a standard install they may still be posted on their website, they pay the dealer for this install. If you want service beyond the standard install somebody has to pay. Either the dealer has to bite the bullet or the customer has to. Usually the dealer will work with you but you may have to pay extra depending on your house construction and what you want done beyond the standard install.

I don't think your question was answered.
How many receivers are you planning on hooking up? How many satellites do you plan to receive signals from. They typical set up is 2 but in some locations you made need a larger dish and a 3rd LNB. Your typical Dish 500 will have two inputs and two outputs but there are new quad LNBs which will give you all four outputs. All the receivers will need to get their own feed from either the dish or from a switch such as a SW-64.
Now it is possible to put your switch in say your attic and just drop lines to each room from there.
Hope this helps.

Thanks this is helpful. If they can put the switch in the attic and drop lines in each room, that certainly will look much better than several line from the dish to the attic. Also really how many dishes do I really need with those free equipment plans. Since technology keep evolving, I notice that most of these good deals only applicable to new subscripter. If the dish well getting obsolete, how do I update the technology....???

If they do update the technology they would probably send out technicians to take care of the upgrade for you.
If it is concrete under the floor it would more than likely come through the wall. Most of the time I run them under the house then drill a hole up through each room in which there will be a receiver.

Legacy LNBs and switches require 2 lines per orbital slot, the new DishPro versions need 1 per slot.
You probably need just one dish, the standard-issue Dish500 that sees 119 and 110. The 61.5 and 148 side slots carry international programming, HDTV, and the "minor" locals for some cities (http://ekb.dbstalk.com/19). A separate dish is needed for either of those.
If you have just 1 or 2 receivers and don't need side slot, your Dish500 will most likely have a Twin so there wouldn't be another switch.
