I manage the MFH2 system in a condo building. One customer is having a problem with the HD/DVR reloading every morning when he turns it on. This receiver has been replaced twice and each one has had this problem. This condo has a total of five tuners and a second condo has three tuners conected to the same SWM-8 in the electrical room. No other problems in this building using a total of 12 SWM-8's. Today I switched receivers between rooms and am curious to hear back from this customer to see if the HD/DVR has this problem in a different room and if the H21 has any trouble in this room. I have already replaced sws-4 splitter and checked connectors.
Any ideas????

:welcome_s to DBSTalk!!

Due to the fact that it's occurring when the customer powers it on, my first thought is the electrical outlet/power strip. If it's overloaded especially, the initial dip in power when the TV is turned on can cause the DVR to reset. They are very sensitive to power fluctuations.

Since you've already advised to the customer to change rooms with the unit, it may very well stop, even if the coax that's feeding it isn't the issue. So make sure to keep the power in the back of your mind.

During troubleshooting today I was able to duplicate this problem just by powering down the box while the TV stayed on and a reload occured upon powering up the box again. I will try an extension chord connected to another circuit next.

Is the system being fed by a 5-LNB or a 3-LNB? Make sure the "problem" DVR is set up properly. If he's not getting guide data, it might cause the problem. That could for example be caused by the DVR being setup for a 5-LNB when it is actually connected to a 3-LNB.

The system is fed by a 5-lnb and the dvr is set accordingly

The other possibility to explore is the connection between the DVR and the TV. If using hdmi, try component.
