You forgot a big one, in August Dish Network will be holding a Special Mini Team Summit outside of Washington DC, with the main subject at the Mini Team Sumit being HDTV and the SuperDish!

The Team Summit is open to dealers only. I am actually thinking of going, while I am not a dealer I have a few dealers who have offered to make me and "employee" so that I can go. :)

damn Scott - I need to get connections like you. I know more about E* & D* than all of the Dealers that I know personally

Scott, didn't forget anything ;-)

Besides - i didn't watch the entire thing yet anyhow...

However - as the topic said: "some details" ( so i wasn't goting to provide the entire chat as i sometimes did in the past :) )
BTW - i saw the part about the Washington's "mini-summit" - but, as you might have noticed by now, HDTV doesn't not interest me AT ALL (at this time anyhow), so because i wasn't posting te entire chat, i would not mention about this summit anyhow)..

After all - lol - the thread was started...
And this being a Discussion Forum - others "kick in" ( just as you did :) ) and continue to discuss other things (as you did)

I was only going to mention the things that interested me and that i "more or less" knew something about...

I hardly know anything about HDTV ( besides watching few demos in the store - Ya it looks great :) , but so what - so do many things in life), nor i intend to purchase HDTV "anything" any time soon...LOL

That is why i wasn't going to mention it, cuz "some kinda" Team Summit ( and yet "mini" - j/k) for Dealers only, definatly doesn't "tickle my fancies" :D (as i mentioned - at this time anyhow)

Hey, Scott, I hoope you get an extra day or two around the summit to actually visit the Washington DC "mall".

visit the Washington DC "mall".A much nicer Mall than any other mall that I have ever visited, including the Mall of America. :D

I haven't watched the chat yet, as I PVR'd it, but this sounds like it could be a fun trip. I could even catch the car-train from here and load up the good old Hyandai Santa Fe. I used to live outside Washington DC (Laurel, Md) and haven't been back there since we moved in 1965. It would be interesting to see how the old "homestead" has changed.

I would like actually to go down, I have also been invited by XM to take a tour of their studios so maybe I can do it all in one trip. :D

I was in DC a couple of weeks ago and my wife and I walked the mall and visited a few museums. They are building a new memorial - WWII I think - on the Washington Memorial end of the reflecting pool.

I will be going back in October for a conference for an entire week and I would love to take a tour of the XM studios while I am there. When it gets a little closer I guess I will email them to inquire about it

There is an above mentioned Slate now on all the old Spanish channels (200s and 600s), at the EPG, stating that they moved to 800 block...

Any particular date (rough) to watch for new receiver announcements?

That new sports package sounds like a rip off because for $4 more you can get the top100 package (unless they took the regional sports package out of the top100 package). What did they do drop the sports package out of top100 or something? It does not sound like much of a deal to me. $36 for the sports package with top100 seems a bit higher than it had been. It was $25+$6 if I am not mistaken. I guess Charlie raised the price of that package to match what DirecTv charges for their sports package.

What are you talking about? AT100 with the Multi-Sport was never ever $25 + $6, for the past several months AT100 with Multi-Sport has ben $33.99 + $5.99 for a total of $39.98. Back in the early days in Summer of 96, AT50CD the predecessor of today's AT100 was $24.99 and some people got a local RSN, but the Multi-Sport pack was not available then and the AT50CD package only had a few more channels then today's AT50, but that was 7 years ago  .

I agree $5 for 1 or 2 RSN's seams to be a lot, making AT50 Plus only $4 less then the full AT100 package that still includes local RSN's, however I am sure that their are people out their on a tight budget who want their local RSN will like this package and do not want to pay the extra $4 for the extra channels included in AT100. Compare AT50 Plus with Multi-Sport at $29.99 + $5.99 = $36.98 with TC and Sports Pak at $33.99 + $12 = $45.99, sure AT50 Plus with Multi-Sport has less channels then TC with Sports, but it is $9.01 cheaper and for some sports fans on a tight budget $36.98 for AT50 Plus with Multi-Sport might seam like a bargain.

I live in the DC area. Any specifics on where this summit will be held?

Also, don't forget, if you are going to visit the Mall, make sure to bring a sign to protest something. Also be aware of the many on going car chases that take place daily in the DC area where international spies are on the run. There are often large shootouts, but don't worry, no one gets hurt. And don't forget, if aliens ever arrive, this is the first place that they ask to come.

I was not saying that top100 was $24.99+$5.99 for the multi-sport pack, I was saying that about top50 plus the multi-sport pack but I had forgotten that they was making customers purchase top100 in order to purchase the multi-sport pack and had wondered why they were doing this and see why they are now.
