Do I own my DSR7000???

OK. That may sound like a stupid question, but I'm a bit soft in the head, so bear with me.

I just signed up with DirecTV with a one year service agreement to get my DSR7000 for $99. I'd like to do some upgrades (i.e. bigger hard drive), but I'm not sure whether or not this box is mine, or if I'm leasing it from DirecTV.

Can anyone shed some light on the situation for me? I want to start digging in to this box!

You own it. You have a commitment to Directv for one year for programming, but otherwise, the box is yours. If you upgrade, though, you will void the warranty.

LOL, I just realized that I hadn't put the cover back on mine after I had upgraded the drive about a month ago. All I wanted to do was mke sure it was ok w/o having to screw with removing the drive etc.

Oh well. The next time that little red light isn't on and I have a few spare moments I'll replace the cover.
