Guys I hate my local stations. I live in Harlingen, tx so i called dish and "moved" to austin, tx I receive the Austin SD local channels fine but for the HD locals im outside of the spot beam. I have been reading but the spot beam maps are above my intellectual apptitude. Can someone tell me if im close to being within the spot beam (i.e. a bigger dish will work) or do I need to "Move" to another city. If i need to "Move" what major city would put me in the spot beam? I willing to do any testing and even ordering a larger dish to try to make it work.
Thanks
Lee

According to the maps, I think it's Corpus Christi or Laredo off of 129° for your location.

Austin HD locals are on two spotbeams, one off 129, another off 61.5. I don't think either go down that far.
According to maps over at SatGuys, the Austin 129 beam is http://www.satelliteguys.us/thelist/index.php?search=dn129&sub=true&sort=&order=&beamMap=CIEL2_SB48.jpg and the 61.5 beam is at http://www.satelliteguys.us/thelist/index.php?search=dn61&sub=true&sort=&order=&beamMap=E12_SB17.jpg, both of which don't look like they reach down there.

Moving like this is against the rules, as are discussions. Thread closed.
