ummmm.... we'll see.....

I saw a preview the other night, or maybe it was just a short segment, but it involved a sleeping Ren having his ummm....rear end... licked by a tongue while both were in some huge mouth. Stimpy was asleep also. Ren wakes up screaming about who is the 'pitcher' and who is the 'catcher'.

Too much for me already.

Billy West not to play the voices (or at least Stimpy???) http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=15546

I know that when John K. (creator or R&S) was kicked off the production of the original show, Billy west did take over voicing Ren. And John K. never forgave him. But Stimpy without Billy West, I'm now going to have to wait and see about all this :(

I just watched the web site video clips and like JBKing described, it is different than what I expected, perhaps this is a different "Men's TV" then what most of us expect :p

The "new" Ren & Stimpy is awful. At least the classic cartoon is on later. Of course it's a shame for the "new" TNN or Spike TV to have their Heiniken commercials interrupted by programming.

It was terrible, they were trying to be crude like the old show, but had none of the humor of the old show.

Hate to hear it was bad, I missed it but was looking forward to watching it...

Show so bad it made me even change my avatar after like over a year of Stimpy :(

Say hello to EIN, he is much smarter than Stimpy :D

Is EIN and acronym for something?

no, just the dogs name (as far as I know). When all the humans have left the ship, the Cowboy Bebob, EIN has been known to answer the video phone.

http://rfblues.aaanime.net/Characters/ein.htm
"Ein is no ordinary Welsh Corgi. He is a mysterious data dog developed at an illegal research lab. What a data dog is, no one knows for sure. Signs of Ein's true intelligence are demonstrated constantly but most of his human companions do not seem to notice. He seems to be able to drive, answer the phone, activate machines, speak (although only in a session preview!) and even hack into computer systems. Spike and Faye think Ein is an obnoxious pest. Jet and Ed, on the other hand, love the brainy pooch. Ein has a genuine attachment to the crew of "Bebop" but he seems to have a deeper connection with the wild Ed. "

I saw Ren and Stimpy last night, and was VERY unhappy with what was shown.

Let's hope it picks back up and PLEASE bring back Billy West.

I doubt it will happen, John K. has never forgiven Billy West for voicing "Ren" after John K. was thrown off the show (John K. had originally voiced Ren). So with this being a John K. unrestricted show, I doubt Billy will show up until John K. gets fired again (which might be tomorrow) :D

Last nights show was made 10 years ago, its known as the lost episode. That is the show that got John K. fired from Nick. The new shows start next week.

God I hope so, I would have kicked him to for that crap.

I don't think last night's was the "lost" episode. Billy West was not listed in the credits (union rules would enforce this, regardless of John K.'s feelings), and even Kricfalusi would know better than to try the numerous homosexual innuendos on a kid's show.

I posted my own review (below) of R&S and Stripperlla on dbsforums. I've copied-and-pasted it here, for those who care to read it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just goes to show that maybe Nickelodeon wasn't the "bad guy" when they removed John K. from Ren & Stimpy years ago. I watched the classic R&S episode ("Space Madness" :D ) first, then went to the DirecTiVo to watch the new episode.

What a godawful mess.

Ren & Stimpy living in a bum's mouth, making homosexual banter, and eating snot and puke (not their own, mind you) while living in a barroom spitoon IS NOT FUNNY !!! I only hope that Kricfalusi was just testing TNN's limits last night with this crap, because another episode this bad and it's gone from my SP list forever

Stripperella was also bad, mostly because it was boring and stupid. Why pixel-block the cartoon stripper's nipples in a late-night adult animated show ABOUT A STRIPPER ? Morons.

The new series takes place in the Bar with all the people shown last night. so last night is part of the new series.

The Lost episode is one where Ren and Stimpy move in or work with this guy who is into S&M and he beats them both thruout the episode. The Lost episode is supposed to appear during the repeats of the old series. and contains the character "George Liquor"

This was a major disappointment. I guess TNN wants to be the channel for Gay men. I thought Lifetime, Bravo, and Discovery Daytime covered that base.

ugh, back to SpeedTV.

I had some free time over the weekend and watched Ren & Stimpy, geeze was it aweful! I liked the crudeness but the story just sucked. Hopefully this week it will be better.

Well watched 2nd new Ren & Stimpy...pretty much lacking in any humor...

The fun of the old REN, was that he was easily unnerved and was always stressed out. So we were often laughing at his reaction. And for some of us, we were more like REN then we were willing to admit.

Now the new REN is a sadistic (Millipede and Frog mutilating) psychopath.

I give it one more chance before I remove the event timer.

I missed last week's Ren&Stimpy and I deliberately avoided any reviews of depictions of the show just so I could watch it with an open mind and no preconceived notions.

GOD did this last episode SUCK!!! It was just sadistic! I saw no humor in this thing what-so-ever! What in heaven's name is John K thinking?!

I zapped a good 30% off the show just searching for when it got funny! It never did!

One more chance and off the timer feature it goes!

And on the other side of the coin, Stripperela is pretty darned funny. Gary the Rat was okay too.

See ya
Tony

Out of the 3, Gary the Rat shows the most promise, Striperella could be good too, just need some better plots, but the new Ren and Stimpy SUCKS which is VERY disapointing to me as it was the one I was looking most forward to.

Well I guess in Hindsight, we can't be mad at "The Suits" that got rid of John K, on the original Ren & Stimpy show years ago. They obviously were dealing with a total nutcase.
