Not trying to be Captain Obvious here :D but don't discount the fact the performance and tuning of the newest graphics card drivers. I just bought a ATI 4830 card back in March 2009 for my new quad core box and it ran OK but the HD content would breakup every 15 seconds. Downloaded the newest drivers from ATIs site (9-8_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_wdm_enu) and now DirectPC runs *flawlessly*.

Excellent point!

I've had to update my drivers several times over the course of testing DIRECTV2PC and more recently Win7 with DIRECTV2PC. Some worked ok, some were outstanding.

And sometimes a new driver release can be just a week after the previous one... so look early and often. :)

Cheers,
Tom

And then when you find one that works... "stop".
My Asus 3650 came with bad drivers [and Asus hasn't offered any new ones either].
ATI drivers needed to be hacked to install on this Asus as the hardware ID wasn't in the inf file.
After a good six months, everything came together and has been fine since.
