Connecticut, Nevada and California each have their own channel uplinked for this purpose. May not be available, yet.

It will show in the 100s if it shows up.

Tax Info Channel??????????

It's a propaganda channel regarding CA, CT and OH and the States thoughts on taxing satellite but cable tv. All the channel says is to go to the stop the satellite tax web site. My channel shows "To Our California Customers", so I'm guessing it's spot beamed.

Gee if they could uplink this to connecticut, you would think they would consider uplinking Hartford Locals. :D

The states mentioned above either have now or are considering a Satellite Tax along with Ohio which just passed the tax. Dish Network Channel 240 has info for Ohio

Directv has had this for quite awhile. It's located in the high 240s (246 - CA and NV, 250 - CT and OH). Should be interesting if they update this for the proposed rally which will be taking place.

Channel 250 is not updated for the Columbus rally it still urges people to stop by the websight....However Gov. Taft signed it yesterday so what good the petitions will do now......

With California's debt problem right now, the tax form is a no brainer:

How much did you make? $______________

Send it in.

Like said above they should uplink Hartford locals while they are at it.

Here in Connecticut it is up on channel 154.

I expected a plea from Charlie or something, instead there are 2 pages of text urging you to call the governor.

It reads...

ATTENTION: CONNECTICUT DISH NETWORK CUSTOMERS

Governor Rowland and some in the CT legislature support a new 5% tax on your satellite TV service, which would increase your payments by several dollars a month. This tax would be in addityion to the 6% sales that that you already pay on your satellite service.

ATTENTION: CONNECTICUT DISH NETWORK CUSTOMERS

Dish Network believes this new tax burden is unfair and we encourage you to voice your opposition to your elected officials now.

Governor JOHN G. ROWLAND can be reached at (860) 566-4840

Best part of this channel is the PQ is the best I have seen on DIsh Network. :D

Seriously if you are a CT resident I urge you to visit the website listed above and try to stop the tax.

If this tax is approved the government will have just found a way to tax AIR.

They are not on spotbeams and the PQ should be good with only 3 or 4 channels on the Transponder. :)

SParker: if they don't Aldo Vagnozzi(my State House Rep) will be feeling my wrath big time, and he's a democrat(so am I). That's when I wish I had a GOP rep so I could really harass him/her big time. Whoever supports satellite tax will be the target of my removal from office campaign. Nobody is immune, not Granholm, not anybody.

If it was a republican you probably wouldn't have this problem. Republicans for the most part hate taxes.

Syates with Republican Governors and legislatures have satellite taxzes too. Lok at Florida. It has a Republican Governor. Both houses are controlled by Republicans and it has the nation's highest tax on satellite service----over 13%

kstevens: WRONG!!!! They hate income taxes that hurt the rich disproportionately, but they love demand side sales and consumer taxes that hurt the poor disproportionately. This is a sales-side tax and will affect poorer people the most. GOPers love that. Dems in general hate sales taxes and love income taxes. Tax the rich and give to the poor. Sates tax doesn't redistribute the wealth like income taxes do.

It's just another form of their trickle down theory which has been proven not work for over a deacade. They never give up on this theory. They just don't get it. Giving the CEO a personal income tax cut won't create jobs. Only increased sales will increase jobs. Increased sales only comes with increased demand. The best, most efficient way to increase demand is a tax cut for the poor.

Trickel Down Economics do work -- for the Rich!! The only thing is it's not money that is trickeling down on your head, its the rich republicans pissing on your head.

Off-topic, but anyone tired of the taxes that keep getting slapped on cell phone customers? Verizon Wireless had an insert in my bill last month similar to the site Scott mentioned, where you put in your name and stuff and it mails your legislators.

I got a letter from my state rep yesterday. He's opposed :D
