View Full Version : 921 - ANY indication that it will scale 480i?
I mean any kind of scaling OF 480i output...whether that be taking an external input such as DVD or VCR and scaling to 1080i OR at least taking it's own internal NTSC reception and scaling the output?
just curious that I have not seen any mention of this, although I BELIEVE this functionality exists on the Samsung and HD Sony D* units.
The 480I/480P upconvert feature is available on the 6000 receiver now, I can not imagine the 921 not being able to do likewise. The only video cable connection from my 6000 to my receiver is component and I leave the 6000 on HD (blue light) for all programming. I will admit that the PQ on my 721 with it's SD output is better than the 6000 upconverted. Even my Moto 5100 HD STB does this, although in the case of the Moto, the SD to 1080I PQ is terrible.

I doubt it. The Samsung 165 has this feature and works fairly well. All the 6000 does is scale 480i programming it receives via Dish or OTA, it does not have an input from other sources like the Samsung does.

I haven't seen any word on whether it just passes these thru, or if it does some conversion.
