Well, it finally happened... Six weeks after E* inexplicably resubmitted a waiver request to my CBS affiliate which was rejected 9 days later, my CBS-W channel was turned off.

Too bad.... I discovered a lot of other CBS shows I wouldn't have watched otherwise as I watch a lot of live TV between 11 and 1 on weeknights.

At least E* had the brains to not hit me with a downgrade charge......

I wonder if it is part of that court decision that they have to go back through all the people that have distant networks and requalify them under the new rules. Including getting waivers all over again...

Another option (somewhat costly) is to look into a Bell ExpressVU system. I recently purchased one to use in addition to Dish. I downgraded my Dish package to just the locals, AT 50+ my three additional receivers. This lowered my bill to about $45 per month. The Bell system was $229 which included the first year of account servicing through CanAm satellites. My monthly fee for Bell is about $30 per month + roughly $4.30 per month for account servcing which is paid on a yearly basis.

What I receive with the Bell programming is ABC NBC CBS and FOX with both east and west coast feeds (Boston and Washington). I also receive the US superstations, 6 movie channels and all of the Canadian Networks (the Simpson's air at least5-7 times per day in addition to popular US series) in all time zones. They also include multiple music and radio station feeds in addition to programming in French. TMN (the movie network) appears to offer popular series from HBO. They also have about the same new movies as HBO + Showtime in addition to Canadian and foreign films.

They also offer additional ala carte programming.

Do you still recieve the east?

Yes, as my phone number qualifies for New York Locals. So I am receiving the New York channels as my locals not as a distant net.
