Today after completing his installation of a HR 22 receiver, the installer told me that I have one more switch available on my multiswitch. I have a Samsung SIR-TS360 receiver that I de-activated a couple years ago. I have verified with DirecTV that this receiver can still be used for SD programming.

Can I simply screw a cable into the remaining multiswitch outlet and then call DirecTV to re-activate the receiver? At the multiswitch do I need to do anything else other than screw in the cable?

Yup! Just connect the receiver to the unused output and re-activate it.

Thanks. I have never worked with a multiswitch and wanted to make sure that there was not some process that had to be followed with the multiswitch prior to connecting the cable.

hopefully there is a cable running from where the switch is to where your samsung receiver is

Thanks again for the advice. Today I hooked up a cable to the multiswitch; ran it to the receiver; and activated the access card. No problems. The TV and receiver are now ready and waiting for my grandkids to use them.
