E* Holiday Music Channel

I tuned in quickly last night to Echostars new Holiday Music Channel (which on my Dishplayer is called BBC World Service) and was suprised to hear a religious Christmas song!

This is a 180 from last year! I didn't listen long but lets hope they cleaned up their playlist!

Scott, this is not a change from last year. I remember hearing religious carols at thanksgiving dinner last year. Muzak has never filtered out religious music, in fact just before Christmas and on Christmas day, the carols dominate over "secular" music. Just wait and see (or, more correctly, hear).

Im not exactly thrill about this channel, I listed to it a little yesterday, there was 4 or 5 audio drop outs, same song was played twice with in 90 minutes and there was a bunch of songs I never heard of and dont care if I ever hear them again. Maybe the songs will get better.

Well I got to listen to it for awhile tonight and I do give it a thumbs down.

The Holiday Channel on DirecTV is MUCH MUCH better. All the songs on DirecTV are done by known artists and are from a wide range of genres.

The Dish Network channel is more elevator music holiday music then actually something you listen to which brings you some Christmas cheer.

On a positive note to Muzak, I like that Anne Murray selection. I heard a great one yesterday and another great one 2 minutes ago.

We will get Music Choice when they Merge. I too like some of the channels on Directv that Dish doesn't have.

Iv been listening to the Holiday Music channel more and more and Im liking it more and more. It still could use some improvements, though.
