Due to trees in my area, I would only be able to get Dish Network if I can receive the signal from the Eastern Arc satellite.

My address is Hawks Nest Circle 14626

Is the Eastern Arc available in Rochester, NY and are local channels available?

Thank you!

No, Rochester, NY locals are on the 110 only.

Yes, you will be able to use the EA dish with any Vip receiver, you would need to add a wing dish for for 110 and your sd channels.

I recently had turbo HD installed near Geneseo, NY (30 miles south of Roch) and they could not use my old SW pointing dish. HD for the Roch area is Eastern Arc.

There are no HD locals for the Rochester DMA. National HD channels are simulcast on 110/129 and 61.5/72/77.

Your best option would be to use the eastern arc and pick up the local HD channels OTA with an antenna. Otherwise, you'll have no network channels. You're going to have to find the right dealer though that's willing to set up that dish for you. Typically, they will only install the correct dish for whatever market you are in. In your case that would be a dish500 for SD or a Dish1000.2 for HD.

129 is not recommended for Rochester, so a 1000.2 is not used. A wing dish for 61.5 is normally used. It is not a eastern arc area because the Local SD are not on the eastern arc. So still a two dish soloution a 500 for 110/119 and a dish 300/500 for 61.5.
