508 Program guide only 36 hours?

I used to be able to scroll forward or fast forward upto 7 days or more to select programs for recording but recently can only go about 36 hours. What's up? Did this change happend due to an upgrade or moving the EPG from one satelite to another? Does anyone know how to get around or fix this? Thanks..

I have a Dish 500 and have no problems getting info 8 days out.

I suspect you haven't been putting your 508 in "standby" (i.e., turning it off) at night and, thus, the routine update isn't happening.

I suggest you do this: instead of scrolling into the future, attempt to go directly to a point 7 days in the future. Do this by pressing the guide button, enter 168 and then immediately press the right arrow (a.k.a. "browse") button. The receiver will then attempt to display the guide one week in the future. If it's not available, you'll be advised that the guide is out of date and asked if you want to download it. Click on "yes" and wait 4 minutes or so for the information to be received. I've noticed that the receiver doesn't automatically exit from the download operation, so press "cancel" after the progress bar you see shows it's completed.
