this is only my 3rd day as a new Dish customer....
(formerly a DirecTV customer, which doesn't get Travel Channel HD)

how can I search which shows on Travel Channle HD are actually HD? :confused:

I don't know if they specifically say, all new shows (at least the ones I watch) are in HD. Anthony Bourdain has been for a couple years now. Anything new by Samantha Brown, Andrew Zimmer, and the new Man VS Food are all HD.

The problem is that many shows say they are HD in the guide (thanks to Tribune and whomever supplies them the info)... but they are not.

The only real way to be sure is to watch the show. Seriously, and not being a smart-alec... the only way to know for sure is to watch for yourself.

Right now Travel Channel has little new programming, which is too bad because it used to be one of my favorite channels. The channel is up for sale and there have been several interested buyers. Hopefully once a sale is completed the programming, including HD, will improve, but that may take several months to a year.
