View Full Version : Sony A4 Not Compatible with NFLST?
I currently have a Sony A4. It has been running solid for the last 10+ years.
Noticed today that I have two new channels. 700 and 784 which read the following:
“This is an older receiver that will not show NFL Sunday Ticket channels after this Sundays free trial is over. All future Sundays of NFL Sunday Ticket need to be viewed on a newer DIRECTV receiver.”
Is this true?!? What IRD will I need if I want to get NFLST? Will an owned HR10-250 work? I still have the original dual lnb round Sony dish. Does this NFLST message also mean I need a new dish too?
I currently do not have any HD TV's.
Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

I believe that all of the NFLST channels are MPEG4 channels... neither of the receivers you mention is MPEG4 capable.
Thanks Larry!
Does anyone know if there is there a list of compatible receivers for nflst?
I also have a Sony A55 that I have been keeping as a backup incase my A4 ever died.
Can anyone confirm that that HR10-250 will not work with NFLST?
Thanks everyone

Actually, that's not the case. The SD NFL ST channels are still MPEG2. That Sony A4 is a legacy receiver that does not have the Advanced Programming Guide which all receivers basically in the last 8 or 9 years use. Your HR10-250 will be just fine for NFL games.

If you call DirecTV, they'll give you a free (leased) receiver upgrade to a D11/D12.
