MASN HD on 209

I was just going to post a thread about this as well.

Every morning for the last three morning I turn on ESPN2HD to watch "Mike and Mike in the Morning" and have MASNHD. Very frustrating.

It abruptly changes to the real ESPN2 and it's programming later in the morning. Odd.


FYI....this is ONLY the HD 209 channel. I can put it on SD 209 channel and it's the proper programming.

I'm in a MASN market, and I do know they run ESPN programming when they do not have their own up. Maybe someone was turning the wrong knobs on a control panel somewhere. (joking).

I posted this in another thread.

I use the up arrow to tune to ESPN2. That was messed up for me. There was some channel reallocation and the up arrow mechanism doesn't seem to track it well.

If that is the issue, go to another channel, set the ESPN2 box to that channel with the green button then go to ESPN2 and reset the same box with the green button. That worked for me.

I just tried that and it worked for one pass and then reverted back to the same channel (MASNHD) I get a Nationals game right now instead of Tennis. Argh! I am resetting the box and trying one more time.

The funny thing is that if I hit the guide button, it says I am on 209 (ESPNHD) but that is not the channel showing.

I had the exact opposite problem. I wanted to watch the Orioles-Red Sox game on MASN HD, and I was getting the ESPN2 tennis coverage (although the info button said it was MASN HD). I tuned to the MLB Extra Innings mix channel, found the game there, tried to tune to it, was told it was blacked out (because we are in MASN's region), but game search found it for me... on MASN. When I let game search tune MASN, it worked correctly. Weird. Never happened before.

Next time this occurs try pressing either channel up or channel down; wait for the channel to tune, then go back to 209 with channel up or channel down; I have had an issue where I tried to tune in to 678-1 which is Fox Sports Houston and I end up getting the Fox Sports Midwest or a black screen; I press channel down to go to 678 and the game is on that channel; then I press channel up to go back to 678-1 and the game appears. It is some sort of mapping / software issue. Also sometimes if I tune directly to 678 I get ESPN 2, but if I channel up or down and then immediately go back to that channel then the correct programming shows up. It has been that way for almost a year now and is very frustrating.

So I direct tuned to 209 and got ESPN2HD and then assigned it to my "up arrow" favorites where it had been replaced with MASNHD and then rebooted the box and everything works great now!
