Now that we canceled all the movie channels and use NetFlix for all the movies we want to see, I look forward to the free preview weekends, to either watch movies I like again, or to see some we haven't seen yet. Thanks for the heads up.

I just got my statement that has this freeview on it. The teaser on the statement mentions that "Austin Powers - Goldmember" will be part of the freeview, but I could not find it in a 721 search. Did anyone else see which channel it is on?

Searching the StarzSuperPak site reveals that "Austin Powers In Goldmember" will begin showing on the Starz Theater channel on July 18.

To see what's going to be on this weekend, trying rummaging around at http://www.starzsuperpak.com/se/ssp/schedule/index.html

Lets see here.... I've programmed in:

Chaplin
Memento
Raise the Red Latern
Reign Of Fire
Signs
The Scorpion King
Undercover Brother
XXX

Boy, will my PVR be packed. I think the only two good movies on that list is Chaplin and Memento.

Is this a Dish thing, or a Starz thing? The HBO preview was nice because it didn't have all the banners and begging for subscribers. I'm hoping for the same this weekend.

Starz and Starz Cinema east are now FTA, the rest of the channels will be unlocked as movies start to end and new ones begin.

We went through the guide last night to set timers for what I want to see, and this was just a great reminder to us that we are not missing anything by not subscribing to them, just like the HBO preview was. I think we set 4 timers. We did about 7 or 8 during the HBO preview. But most of them are movies that we'll watch for free but wouldn't pay to see.

As of this morning, the Dishplayer guide still had the channels grayed out, but if you selected one, you could receive it.

At most, I found 2 movies that "might" be interesting. XXX and About a Boy. You would think if a free preview is 'sposed to entice you into subscribing, that it would be chock full of blockbusters. Problem is they never are. I think the last free preview I found 2 movies then that were worth taping (but unfortunately were not actually worth watching. Bone Collector and Highlander:Endgame).

I feel the same way Randy. The free previews are a time when the programming providers should put on the biggest hits they have rights to and make their nextworks shine. And also mix it up a little, but usually they don't. And it would be nice if they started do show some movies in OAR, but they won't :(

I know I saw LOTR in there....

I see a lot of movies on Starz this weekend that someone in my family would be interested in. That may just be because we don't get out to the theatre or video store much. But here's my "to record" list:

Signs
Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring
Black Hawk Down
About a Boy
In the Bedroom
Memento
Gosford Park
The Bourne Identity
Sling Blade
Kate & Leopold
Monsters Inc.
XXX
The Scorpion King

I was surprised to see Lord of the Rings in OAR. I guess they throw us a bone every now and then.

I think they show movies that are pretty much representative of their normal schedule for the free previews. "Signs" on Saturday night is their premier for the week. They have a premier movie every Saturday night (same day and time usually as HBO). The rest of the movies have been shown on Starz previously.

I have a grand total of 2 movies set to record, Signs and The Dark Half. The Dark Half is on TMC a lot but I always forget about it.
