is it my imagination or are there no Yankees games in HD on Dish Network, even if I'm willing to pay?
I moved from New York to North Carolina. Just got Dish Network installed.... but can't seem to find any Yankees games in HD. (except the occasionall ones on ESPN HD)
There's this Dish package call "Multi-Sport Pack" but the Dish rep wasn't sure if it will enable me to watch Yankees games in HD. :(
Any help appreciated! :)

Out of market professional games are not included in that unless it's already a national game. Do a quick search and you'll find out all about it.
You would need the MLB Extra Innings package which is not an option for you.

Even if E* had MLBEI they don't carry "YES" due to the price that network was asking.
The only Yankees in HD you'll ever see is when FOX or ESPN has a national game, or perhaps the last few innings of games that run past the 3 hour window if you have Multisport (i.e. if a game runs overtime the blackout is lifted and you get to see the tail end of the game from the opposing team's RSN).

Not sure if you would qualify for a Regional Sports Network that has HD Baseball games. If you did you might see Yankee away games against your regional Team. And of course the occasional Nationally carried Yankees game.

I just searched on MLB.com and apparently my home
teams are the Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles. I'm in North Carolina.... but I guess there's no real
baseball teams down here....:hurah:
Does this mean that all Yankees games will be blakced out
for me, unless the Yankess happens to be playing the
Nationals and Orioles? (even when I get the $5.99
"Multi-Sports Pack" ???)
As long as I'm asking, will The World Series be carried
in HD on Dish Network? If so, which channels?
Thanks! :)

Fox has all World Series games on their many broadcast channels. So you will be able to see the Red Sox or Angels (which ever of the two makes it) in the World Series.

You need Diretv or U-verse or FIOS to get YES.

The Multi-Sports Pack means nothing for professional sports. I don't know Dish's RSN programming requirements I'm sure someone can fill you in but unless you need the sports pack to see the RSN's that carry your home teams that package will do nothing for you for live baseball.

Just like every year in the current contract, Playoff's on TBS, Champion ship games, American League Fox, National League TBS, World Series on FOX.

Right. If you want the best in programming, eliminate DISH from consideration.

YES is still blacked out during games on U-verse and FIOS because you are out of market. Someone stated above that YES is not in EI on DirecTv, not sure about that.
Another solution for Yankees in HD, home and away feeds, is MLB.com via Roku in 720p. You need to subscribe to MLB.TV Premium and buy a $99 Roku box.

YES is certainly part of MLB-EI on Directv. They also pick up the My9 network HD feed for games not on YES. All graphics and announcers are from YES when on My9.
The Yanks are why I get EI, since I'm near Dallas.

apparently there will be three Yankees vs. Red Sox games
next week.(Fri/Sat/Sun) :) Carried in HD by ESPN, FOX,
and TBS.
Have these two rival teams gotten into serious physical brawls? :D

Of the remaining Yankee games, you "could" see: 4 of the remaining 12 games. Next weekends games on TBS, FOX an ESPN. Plus this Tuesdays game on WWOR channel 238 <--assuming you qualify for the 'add-on' package called "Superstations". However there is one game listed next month as just being shown on MLBtv.....they might be waiting to see what network will pick that game up so that could be a 5th posible game.
p.s. Plus they played Baltimore 5 times this month, you 'would' of seen those.

Thanks for reminding me... :) Yankess's own website
only shows MY9 and MLB.TV, but I completely forgot that
MY9 is WWOR, which I do get via Dish... just hoping that
it's not blacked out or anything.... it's only in SD, but
SD is better than nothing... :)
now if I can just get my eyes on some Mariners games
via Dish Network.... :) (sorry, but I'm a dual Yankees &
Mariners fan)

I've never had a blackout on WWOR or WPIX. I believe they are treated as if they are in your local DMA. :)
You can get every yankee game, if your tv provider has MLB extra innings.
Directv has all the MLB EI games in HD. You can get every Yankee and Mariner
Game in HD. I sub to it and it is great. I used to get it on E* but E* dropped
Coverage. Something to definitely consider for 2010. E* has very limited
Baseball coverage. I do not even get one baseball RSN on E*.

I know.... but I've just switched to Dish Network,
after being a DirecTV cutsomer for 11+ years. :)
Dish Network has a lot more other channels that I
couldn't get with DirecTV, even if I was willing to pay.
What are the chances that DirecTV and Dish Network
will merge or buy each other out?

I'd say very likely... because there's a deal in place to
broadcast that World Series live on HD channel 20016,
on the new DishDirecTV. (to be called "DDT" after
their merger is completed)

WWOR bought the rights to the Spanish feeds for both FOX and TBS only in the NYC market. Outside the NYC DMA, WWOR will be blacked out only during the games and the Spanish feeds are on Fox Sports Espanol.

Well it seems not even the Ump's are watching the games, so is anybody really missing anything?
