Hey PigerTaws,
go to www.dishnetwork.com and look at programming. Then go under locals. There should be an option where you can enter your zip code and address and it will bring back a response if your in an area that offers locals on dish. Hope this helps.

They don't have Wilmington uplinked yet.. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any future plans to.

You can contact Dish directly and ask them. It seems they are adding locations left and right. So if its not coming up soon, it should be available shortly.

Not to say that plans never change...
DirecTV seems to be waiting for the launch of their new spot beam satellite, DirecTV 7-S, which is tentatively scheduled for launch in October. Once DirecTV 7-S is operation, DirecTV will add the rest of the local markets that are currently listed on their local channels page on their website that are being serviced by the end of the year. That includes Wilmington.
Dish Network has announced the local markets they plan on adding for the rest of the year. Wilmington is not one of those markets.
However, once both companies have completed uplinking and servicing their announced markets, they will later evaluate what space is available, and what other markets they may add in the future.

I gave Dish a call and the rep told me that Wilmington is "under negotiation." Is that a grain of hope..or just what they tell everyone?

I Live in Sherman Texas, Charlie announced in August that
6 upcoming cities would still work with dish500 and Sherman was one of them, the other 5 cities have been launched, but sherman is delayed til end of year at the latest. Does this mean they wont have room to add just 2 more local channels to 110 sat?or have they probably allready Reserved a space for this city when it goes up since they said we would still be on dish 500 ?

Thanks for your reply :)
knowing that it will still be on 110 is a great relief since I like the Dish500 as is and its only 2 local channels ( NBC and CBS) going up. I still havent heard IF they are going to add some channels from Dallas yet which is 60 miles away and already have all their stations on 110. so not sure what kind of 'local' package they have in mind. BTW. im not afraid to admit I dont know what you mean by fiber back-haul. :) :D

Thanks, When will you probably have new updates on cities like Sherman that are upcoming or delayed?was just curious how long the backhaul fiber problems will take to straighten out.
