So I currently have a ViP612 in the living room, and the UHF remote that came with it is currently sitting in a drawer since we use a Logitech Harmony. I just installed an HDTV in our bedroom upstairs, and need to figure out which receiver to order. I need a UHF remote for the bedroom because the receiver is going to be hidden away, but I can't find any single tuner NON DVR receivers that support a UHF remote. I don't want a DVR receiver in the bedroom because it makes too much noise. The solution seems to be the ViP 222, but the product description says that TV1 only works with IR, and the UHF is for TV2.

I need:

Non-DVR unit
HDMI output
UHF remote

Can anyone make a recommendation? Is there a way to make the 222's UHF remote work for TV1 instead? Or can I do something with the unused remote from the 612?

If you have a 6.3 remote, do what I did and flip the switch in the bottom to 'middle' (gotta pull the blue 2 chip out) and use it to do UHF on TV1.

Yes, the remote I got with the 612 says "6.3 IR/UHF Pro" on the back. So are you saying I should get the 222 for the bedroom and use my current 6.3 remote to operate TV1 on UHF?

Just found an old thread on it.

Says "yup" and has the info there for how to set up the 6.3 UHF remote.

If you need an extra they're really cheap on eBay.

Couldn't the 222 be put in Single Mode?

Sweet, even better! Looks like it's going to be the 222 then :)
