Lag in changing channels - Sunday Ticket

Anyone else have like a 5 to 10 second delay when changing channels during the games on Sunday?

Yep. The lag is really bad.

That's a DirecTV feature...they are concerned that many people do not communicate with their family members and friends while watching TV...so, by slowing all operations down to a crawl in their DVR line they have allowed sufficient time to hold a short, but meaningful, conversation.

It's always been like that with ST for me.

Are you referring to HD version of the channel? I think it is because of the player tracker and other "interactive features" they add.

No problem with that here and I even have Native turned on right now as a quality test on my new TV. Channel changes were maybe 2-3 seconds. My wife can testify since I'm a huge surfer between all the games.

I didn't notice any difference between NFLST & the time it takes to change channels on any interactive channel. It took a few seconds, but definitely not 10. Although I do have native off, so that does speed it up a bit.

The channel that seemed to load extremely slow, was the Mix channel. It seemed to take forever for the outline to appear that allows you to change windows.

Yep. And that's no change from the past. The Mix channels is very slow.

One thing I do before games start is load up the Mix channel, RZC and bring up the interactive menus and load each screen I use. Why? Because it's faster after that because it seems to be in memory. I don't want added delays once the games start so I do this during the commercials of the pre-game show.

What I don't understand is why does the Sports Mix channel load so much faster then the Game Mix channel?

I added the HD channels to the list for the day as it was free.
Full 10 seconds easily changing between games during timeouts etc.
I gave up changing channels in the end. Never seen anything so slow.
