I am moving from the south to the west coast. I don't know if the new house will allow me to install a dish. Will I have to renew my contract when I move? Also what if I start the moving process and find out that where I move to will not allow me to have a dish (line of sight or other reasons?)

Simple solution. Don't start the movers process until your are actually ready to move. If the installer comes out and determines that there is no LOS then nothing gets added to your contract . If your out of cpontract obligation already that's the end of it all other than having to return any leased receiver back to DirecTV.

If your still in contract and have no LOS at the new residance, then you'll have to pay out the remaining months left on your contract at the 20/mth fee for cancellation.

Disallowing a dish to be installed is against the FCC ruling as long as it's on your property; rented or owned. If it can only have signal from a "common area" such as a condo roof, or apartment roof etc; then you have an issue again with asking for permission from the landlord/condo assosiation etc...

A Mover's Connection does NOT extend your contract UNLESS you have an upgrade involved (i.e., adding a new leased receiver). And if you have LOS issues at your new location, you will be released from your contract.
