PVR 508 blinking clock

I was reading in the forum someone mentioned that on the 721 that you can disable the blinking clock reminder of a event that is going to be recorded. Can that be disabled on the 508 and if so how?

No it cannot. I agree its one of the most distracting things ever made.

It can't be permanantly disabled on the 508 but if you press the "cancel" button on the remote, it will stop it from blinking.

Sounds like it would do so but no, pressing the cancel button just cancels Mr. Blinky from displaying anymore on that reminder. I really wish Dish would get us an option to cancel Mr. Blinky permenately.

Press Select Twice... I think cancel will stop the timer from starting.The 1st press shows you what will record, or rather, the title attached to the timer when it was created, not necessarily the current EPG. The 2nd press is the default OK - the clock stops flashing but the timer continues.

To stop the timer from firing, press Select or Info, then choose Stop Timer.
