View Full Version : Trying to move access card from Legacy A4 to HR10-250

I currently have an old Sony A4 with a P4 access card.

I want to move that card into an “owned” HR10-250. I called D* a few weeks ago to verify the IRD and they said that would be able to use this unit on my account since this is an owned unit and not a lease.

I tried calling in but keep getting “all circuits are busy” recording.

I attempted to move the card myself using the on-line card refresh.

I tried several times, but kept getting the “Ext 726 – Wrong or missing RID number” message. (this makes sense since the older A4 does not have an RID that I know of)

Is there a way I can refresh this online and add the RID to my account?

Or is there anything special I need to say if I can ever get in touch with someone on the phone.

Thanks in advance for all the help.

I do not believe you can use the older card with the HR10. If you call them to activate the HR10 they will be happy to send you a new card. Traditionally there is a $19.99 fee for that but it's not unheard of to have that waived.

Thanks for the reply. After being on hold for what seemed forever, I finally got through to someone.

They are sending out a replacement access card in 3-5 days.

They explained that receivers with RID#'s need to have a new access card and that my card was only compatible with older receivers.

I was hoping for quick solution, but waiting a few days will not hurt too much.

Thanks for all the help! :-)
