When DirecTV first offered HD years ago I upgraded right away so I have one of the original 5LNB systems. I have four wires that come into the house and run through a grounding block. Currently, I have a DVR and two other HD receivers hooked up. I would like to hook up two more HD receivers to this setup. I know the I would need some sort of mulitswitch but I have no idea witch type. Can someone provide me with a link to what I need or a detailed enough description so I can find it for myself? Thanks for your help.

Or if you want to spend a few dollars more you could go with a SWM8, http://www.weaknees.com/swm-directv.php. An advantage is that if you decided to go with a HD DVR you need only one coax run vs. the two if you just use a switch. It would also allow you to use the coming DECA adapters for networking the HD receivers together.

SWM 8 is the way to go and you can find them on ebay, with power inserter and splitter, shipped for about $80. Very easy to install too.

When recommending a SWM8 to someone, please remember to mention that SWM8's are considered "commercial" items, and are not supported in residential installs. DirecTV techs may even refuse to work on a system with a SWM8 installed, and under DirecTV's system, and with the chargeback potential, that's a valid refusal.

I'm a huge supporter of SWM technology, and have been from the beginning, but DirecTV has very strict rules with SWM stuff right now, and folks should be told about those limitations before you "recommend" a SWM solution.
