Those of you that have the boxes with the audio problem, have you had any luck with support for Direct TV? Have they acknowledged the problem or offered to replace boxes for anybody?
I have 2 HR21-100 with the problem and HR20-700 with the problem. I am wondering what I should do. Any advice would be appreciated.

The only advice is that changing boxes won't fix this problem.

DirecTV's signature Brrippp® sound has been cussed to death and discussed ad infinitum in innumerable threads.
Mods, won't you please close this one?

Mods, won't you please close this one? or maybe merge it with the current one ;):)
or perhaps not hide the thread so that people with the problem can find information about it easily.

"Hidden"?
After the thread got so long nobody was reading the beginning that explained what is the cause.
While the new thread did get moved to another part of the forum, it wasn't hidden and can be found in the sub-forum: http://www.dbstalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=115
