Ok, NFL season has arrived, (and I finally got the rack re-arranged after a TV started failing...) so I though it was also time to show my NFL arrangement. :)

(And many of you have asked about the Packer Room.) :)

The basic setup on game day:

http://www.dbstalk.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=19763&stc=1&d=1253747941

Three DVRs driving three screens, two computers using DIRECTV2PC, and with the new Supercast Mobile and new HTC Touch Pro II. :) (By the way, 3G was just turned on in my neck of UT! Woohoo!) :)

Here is the equipment stack:
http://www.dbstalk.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=19764&stc=1&d=1253747941

From the top:
Yamaha RX-V861
HR20-700 (feeding boomerang to the rest of the house, namely Mother-in-law apt.)
HR20-700
HR20-100

Channel Master SVM-24 (distributing video and stereo to the rest of the house)
H23-600 (feeding music to Mother-in-law apt.)
H21-200
AM21 for HR21-700
HR21-700

Hidden under the TV is an OPPO BDP-83. Real sweet BD player. :)

(As well as a Wii.)

So how do you watch sports? :)

Cheers,
Tom

(Yes, the screens are replays from last weekend. I'm way too busy watching the games to actually take pix...) :)

Cool setup.

Only thing I see missing are Packer chairs :)

By the way, do you have sound coming out of the two smaller screens, or are they strictly monitors?

red zone was on the 40'
eagles game was on the 27' HD

Strictly monitors, but they can switch up to the big screen with sound at any time.

I have enough points to buy a Packer Couch or chairs, tho we're looking at other options for seating in this room.

(At one time had enough points to buy a Packer Pool Table, but that special went away.)

We'll have to keep it open. I know there are other, more impressive arrangements than mine, please post them. :)

And cross your fingers, by NCAA tourney time, I'll have a 100"+ screen too. At least by next NFL season... :D
Wow.....impressive. My wife would KILL me.......Most of this isn't too bad so Mrs. Tibber is willing to go along. And I pull up the two monitors after the regular season is done. :)

And it helps that we've been married 22+ years now. :)

LOL. My wife actually encourages this kind of stuff, although I only have one main TV. I've got Bears stuff all over. When a Red Wings game is on she hauls out all the Red Wings gear to cover up my Bears stuff.

Don't even ask when the Bears play the Eagles (wife grew up in Philly). :eek2:

Was waiting for Sunday to post my pic, since thats the only day the channel is active. I have a ~208" screen that gives me about ~40" per game on the game mix channel. These mix channels are awesome for big screens as you can easily control the audio and easily make the game you want large.

In my current room, I'm figuring 140" might about the biggest I can realistically do tho I'm keeping an eye on the technology evolve. :)

Thanks. I'm using Panasonic PT-AE3000U. I did have a 150" Stewart screen, but I decided to give wall paint a try and I'll never go back. As long as you can smooth your wall surface out, a good paint mixture is better IMHO then most screens. Not to mention a tenth of the cost.

I've been looking for a projector for our den for the longest time, but can't seem to find one (with the proper specs) to fit our budget.

How's the brightness on your Panasonic? I read some reviews on it and the "experts" say that it is only good for screens under 110 inches. It looked okay on your 200+ inch wall, but was hard to tell how bright the picture can get since you had the lights on in the pic.

Anyhow, great setup, once again. I hope to one day have something similar.

BTW, where are the left and right speakers? I only saw what appeared to be a Center speaker in the picture.

If you have a room you can completely control the light in, you can go well above 200" with the PT-AE3000U. If lighting is an issue however, you'd probably want to keep it around 120" or lower and go with a gray screen to help with brightness. The mode I had it in is not as bright as it can go and can probably be almost twice as bright as what is seen. I had to turn the lights up to get the pic, thats also why the screen looks a little more washed too.

I mounted all my surround speakers in the ceiling in order to alleviate sound bounce from the opposite wall. This way they fire to floor and nothing is bounced around. I just finished my shelf for my center speaker and should have that off the ground as soon as the paint cures.

How is the PQ on the Mix station at that size? Fairly good, it looks.

The PQ is outstanding. Every channel box appears full HD, plus you get the score and distance monitor for each game. I put my current screen up around March Madness time and when we put the mix station on then I pulled a 42" LCD in the room to compare. You couldn't tell the difference between full screen on the LCD and a square on the mix channel.

2 year old gateway computer monitors. They work very well. :) (But no sound, so don't make great TVs without a sound system of some sort.)

Similar to my viewing on my 116" screen here....along with the 7.1 surround sound system in the Home Theater that handles 5.1 quite well for NFL Sunday ticket.

A few weeks back, I brought in two (2) 42" LCD HDTVs on each side...just for one game (Packers beat the Bears!)...

These large HD screens via projectors are the cat's meow for football.

Some really good stuff happening in monitors these days: 1080p (but don't know if 1080p24 or not), with sound, etc. for under $300, some even under $200.

At least you have your beer and cigarettes!

My set-up is not worthy. Only a Sanyo 52" LCD (won it as door prize at a car show) and a Sony 40" LCD. On those rare weekend when the Colts play on a Sunday afternoon, I have that game OTA on the 52 and Game Mix or Red Zone on the 40.

That's my preference too. I've certainly got the room for multiple TV's, but just don't like it. I'd much rather have a large screen (mine's 126") for mix channels (or DLB) with the ability to change to the full picture when I want. Once you watch sports on a +100" screen, it's hard to watch it on anything smaller. I have a 65" in the living room and it's hard to watch on that sometimes, because the players aren't life-sized.
