Guide not picking up announced changes

Nick has announced changes in its lineup starting monday at 4, 3c.

The guide still shows the old lineup.

Give it time. DirecTV gets their Guide Data from Tribune News Services, and they get that information from the networks. When their data is updated, your Guide will be updated.

Guide data is updated in real time. For example, if Obama decides once again to give a speech in two days, TMS (Tribune MEDIA Service) gets this update from the TV networks and includes it in it's guide data. This in turn is sent to DirecTV which places it in the current guide stream. However, it takes 24-48 hours for a DirecTV receiver to receive all the guide information being sent, so the updated info could take this long to overwrite the old programs listed for the time of the new speech.

Guide data for programs airing in the next 6-12 hours are sent out more often to allow subscribers deciding what to watch the most current data. In fact, the next 6 hours of guide data is sent out on a special high speed data stream which is why if you restart your receiver you will ALWAYS have about 6 hours of upcoming guide data. When this high speed guide data is being received, an onscreen bar graph labeled "receiving satellite data" is shown to the viewer.

If your guide for Nik hasn't updated, you can go to their website and examine their new schedule. Then, until your guide updates with the new schedule you can schedule MANUAL recordings for the shows you want to record. (You just specify channel, time, and duration of the show and how often you want that time slot to be recorded)
