Empire Sports may not be around much longer!!

There was an article in the Buffalo News last week that said Empire Sports who holds the rights to broadcast the Buffalo Sabres games may sell the rights to another sports network and disband.

Time Warner system in that city plans to put Empire on a digital tier by the end of July for an additional $4.95 a month! :nono2:

That will only help to increase DBS penertration in the Rochester area. The article never mentioned if my area would be effected. My cable company is a division of TW of Rochester, but I'm no where near the Rochester market, the two channel line ups are almost identical from the last time I checked except the Erie County division has Buffalo locals and different public access channels.

I agree with Steve Mehs. Empire Sports Network will more than likely become another Fox Sports Net on the Dial.
