My current keyboard is dying, and I need a recommendation. I've been looking on the web, but a lot of sites only have small pics of the keyboards, so I don't know if they'd work for me or not.
I need it to be wireless; regular, standard keyboard with number pad; non "wave" design or whatever they call that; HAS to have multimedia keys (Volume, play, stop, prev, next); and eject key for the DVD burner would be nice, but not necessary.
Also, mouse combo not necessary, but if it HAS to come with it.
Battery life is important as well. That's the problem with my current one-it's started sucking up about 2 AA batteries every day.
Price-should be around or under $50 or so.

Also go to Amazon and search on "wireless keyboard".
There's way too many variations for personal recommendations IMO.

I have the logitech Wave and am pretty satisfied, but there's always that something that I might like better on other brands and models. Before the Logitech I had the Microsoft 6000 package that I loved, but it had a short lifespan. I know you're not looking for a "wave" type.

I think I spent more time on my last wireless keyboard purchase than I di on my latest PC purchase. It's actually fun to compare them all and read all the users reviews.

I use a Logitech LX710 and it has been great, but some of the Logitech keyboards have a bug where they will start outputting multiple key presses for a single key press. About once a month, when I press "s" I get "ssssss" on the screen. Can be fixed by unplugging the USB receiver and reinserting, but that is a pain.

I prefer Bluetooth over "traditional" wireless. I bought the Microsoft Optical Desktop Elite and love it:

I actually have two sets - one at home and one at the office. I even bought an extra mouse on eBay to use with my laptop. The problem is, they discontinued this set. I hope mine doesn't break!

Directron has a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic USB Multimedia Keyboard 4000 OEM for $24. I use them on both my home and work computers. Not only is it comfortable, but it includes function keys as well. You will have to download the drivers from Microsoft.

There you go. Best keyboard ever made. I still have about 4 of the IBM Model M's in my closet "just in case" ;-)

I don't think that will work - the OP wanted wireless and a standard, "non-wave" design.

I liked those, too! My first computer keyboard was one of these (on an IBM S/36). I loved the heavy, loud click it made. Plus the ability to tilt high from the back!
